“The senses, being explorers of the world, open the way to knowledge. Our apparatus for educating the senses offers the child a key to guide his explorations of the world…”

Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome to My Site
1. What are your operating hours?
Drop off is at 8:30 am and pick up at 5 pm for both our Toddler Explorers and Preschool Explorers. However, the last child leaves at about 4:45 pm.

2. When do you close for Summer and Easter break?
We do not close for mid-term breaks, Easter Break or Summer break, and we take the last week of December off so the team can rest and we can do lesson plans for the new school year, and maintenance at school. So for example we close on Friday December 22nd 2023 for our Christmas break and will return on January 2nd 2024, closing for a total of 3 working days (this may vary year to year).

3. How are school fees paid? Is it every term?
School fees are paid on a monthly basis during the first week of each month. School fees can be paid in cash, Direct deposit, or by check. Because we do not close, we do not recognize term time. If your family decides to travel, school fees are still due, however, there will be a 10% discount applied to your child/children's fees.

4. Do I have to opt in for a 12 month contract, even if my child wont attend school during the Summer Months?
No. We offer a 12 month, 10 month and a holiday contract. The fees vary depending on which contract you choose. More information about our Fee Structures HERE.

5. Are the teachers First Aid trained?
YES. ALL members of the team are First Aid and CPR Trained and Certified by the Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross Association. See Team Info HERE

6. What are your classroom ratios?
In our Toddler Explorer Classroom, the ratio is 3:1 (standard 5:1), in our Preschool Explorer Classroom the ratio is 7:1 (standard 10:1/15:1).

7. At what age can my child start?
We take children as young as 16 months old. When we accept a child mostly depends on the child's readiness, ability to walk, and eat solid foods.
8. Does my child need to be potty trained before they start?
No. Your child does not need to be using the toilet independently to start in our Toddler Explorer Classroom. We work with parents to teach the children how to use the toilet independently when the child is ready. Children who start in our Toddler Explorer class are usually in diapers. However, in out Preschool Explorers classroom, it is preferred that they are out of diapers, we will continue their toilet learning if they have not mastered it by 3 years old.
9. Will my child be allowed to bring snacks to school?
NO. We provide a morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack for both classrooms. Each meal is served with milk and water. Children are not allowed to bring food or snacks to school. Except for birthday parties where parents would work along with the Lead teacher to ensure snack boxes and cakes are within school guidelines and dietary requirements. See a sample Menu HERE.

10. Can I pick my child up before 5 pm?
Absolutely. It is important to establish a routine for your child which includes dropping them off and picking them up at roughly the same time daily. However, the pick up time does not need to be 5 pm. Speak with your child's teacher to find out when is an optimum time to pick your child up.
